BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY COURSES

Talland  offers top class training on a range of career qualifications through our BHS courses, from Stage One to Fellowship level including your UKCC level 2.

The BHS examinations system is one of the best and most widely respected in the world. The progressive route encourages you to continue, learning from beginner level to world-class qualifications.

The advice, guidelines and syllabus for every level mean that you can be sure of what you'll be asked to do and also be sure you're making the right choice in taking your exams with us. Once you're qualified, you can also attend professional development events to push your skills even further.

BHS qualifications may also be used as UCAS tarriff points that can help you gain entry to University. For more information go to the EQL website.

If you can't find an option that suits you, call our team at Talland and we will find the right programme for your needs.

  • With all courses - the cost of accommodation is fully inclusive of all bills, with the exception of your mobile phone bill, and personal items. All meals are prepared and the accommodation is cleaned regularly (although you are expected to tidy up after yourselves and tidy your own room).

  • There are opportunities to compete in most disciplines, for those who are interested, either with your own horse, or with some of the school horses ( not all are able to compete)  this is self funded, and we will support you with training and guidance as needed  to help you to do well.

  • Living in is not compulsory, but preferred. The student must be aware that once they are fully enrolled and commited to the course, any lateness or non attendance may result in them losing their place on the course.

  • BHS Exam fees are payable direct to the BHS, and with intensive courses we require that you book them prior to course commencement - after a trial to ensure that we decide upon realistic goals for you within the timeframe that you choose.

  • All extra private tuition is on a pay as you go basis  and all career courses (except Non Working Option) include working on the yard with the other students as part of the practical work experience required for the exams.
